Tracy Villeneuve (Prinzen) passed on, Saturday May 27th, 2023 at the age of 54 after a long struggle with heart disease and rheumatoid arthritis. She is survived by her husband Michel (Mikey), her step children Justin (Jessica), Jesse, and Jade, her grandchildren Jacob and Jolie, her mother Audrey Hummel, siblings Joan (John), Wilma, Dorothy (Rick), John (Kim) and her two dogs Whoopsy & Daisy. She leaves behind many loved nieces and nephews. She is predeceased by her father John Prinzen in 2008.
Tracy grew up in Oshawa. She became a hairdresser and later moved to the Okanagan Valley British Columbia, where she was inspired to become a nurse and achieved her degree. The Kwakiutl District Council in British Columbia was her first employer as a Community Health Nurse. She completed her masters in Health Promotion, taught nursing research and later became the educator at the former Whitby Psychiatric Hospital. She was a true trailblazer, promoting positive health outcomes and policies, especially with the Indigenous Community and Youth Initiatives (Brock Youth Centre). She was a kind hearted, dynamic, loving person and passionate about her family, friends, dogs and work.
Tracy’s celebration of life will be held at 1pm on June 24th 2023, at the Mississaugas of Scugog Island First Nation Health & Resource Centre. 22600 Island Road, Port Perry, Ontario
