Lorraine Joyce Jackson (nee Robb):
It is with great sadness the family of Lorraine Joyce (Lorri) Jackson announce her passing at the Sunnyside Long Term Care Home in Kitchener on 16 August 2023. Lorraine was born in Vancouver B.C. March 20, 1932.
Lorrie is survived by her son: Jerry Arthur (Kirby) of Waterloo, ON, daughter, Sandra Catherine Jackson (Colin Rooney) of Tumbarumba, N.S.W., Australia, and son, Benjamin Lee Jackson of Brantford, ON, and daughter-in-law Kelly Jackson-Kane (Jim) of St. Marys, ON.
Lorraine was predeceased by her parents Arthur & Helen Robb of Vancouver B.C, her husband Clifford Marks Jackson (1993) and her eldest son; Thomas Mark Jackson (1989).
She will be lovingly remembered by her eight grandchildren: Daniel (Ashley), Jennifer (Aries), Jerry Jr., Caitlin, Rory, Tyson, Quinn, and, Eleanor and nine great grandchildren: Theodore, Francesca, Tye, Lela, Kane, Wren, Fletcher, Raphael, and, Leonardo.
Fondly remembered by her sisters-in-law Gladys Schweitzer of Linwood, WA, and Eunice Weickert of Waterloo and her nieces Lynn, Patricia, Heather, Catherine and nephews: Norman, Steven, Mark and families.
She is also remembered by many friends from the Kitchener Seniors Center formerly St. Mary's High School and her neighbours at Victoria Park.
Lorraine worked for Towers Department Store in Waterloo (Zellers) for 33 years. She was a warm and caring employee and loved by all. She lived in her home at Victoria Park for 56 years and loved her garden and flowers.
She was acknowledged for her 17 years of dedication as a volunteer at the Kitchener Seniors Center and received the "Senior of the Year" award from the City in 2011.
Mom was a humble and dedicated Mother, Grand Mother and friend. She cherished her family and loved to see everyone together at her home or picnics.
Lorraine's family will receive relatives and friends from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, August 23, 2023 at the Henry Walser Funeral Home, 507 Frederick Street, Kitchener, 519-749-8467. Private graveside service where she will be interred with her husband Clifford at a later date.
