Carlyn, 64, passed away peacefully in the arms of her beloved son, Christopher (Connie), at home surrounded by family after a quiet battle with Cancer.
Predeceased by her parents Thomas and Ellen O’Connor and brother Kevan (Lynn). Carlyn is survived by her sister Kelly, and brothers Barry (Deby), Donald (Martha), and Edward. She will be forever in the hearts of her family in Scotland, many nieces, nephews, cousins, and countless friends. A pillar of the Millwrights Union Local 1007 for over 21 years, she was treasured by her members who she proudly shepherded.
Carlyn’s life was defined by her devotion to her family. She put everything in to the people she loved. From raising her son, to being an absolute rock for her siblings, she had a special kind of warmth. The problems of the world could be solved over a cup of tea and a Sunday roast. She was rarely seen without a smile and could light up any room. The passion for life itself drove her to spread kindness and love in every direction. A practice her family will carry on.
Port Dalhousie is a place of many stories, a place Carlyn called home. Her family and friends can attest to the many tales shared with her over the years. From “paradise”, to the sand piles, Port Dalhousie is a revered place where legends live on.
A Celebration of Life will take place on Friday, July 21st, 2023 at the Port Dalhousie Legion from 3p.m. to 9p.m. In lieu of flowers, donations can be made to the YWCA of Niagara Region and Friends of the Carousel.
Speak of her fondly and often. Share the stories and raise a glass. Carlyn, your light shines on!
We’ll put the kettle on.
