Miller, Darlene Rose (nee Rainey)
Darlene Miller, age 63, loving mother of four and adoring wife to Tom Miller, her soulmate, passed away the morning of November 11, 2022 after a courageous battle with lung cancer.
Darlene was born in 1959 in Guelph, and grew up surrounded by her loving parents, Don and Rose, and her six sisters and one brother. Darlene was influenced by her family to be a loving and supportive woman, and always willing to give whatever she could; and always one to try to make you smile. Which she continued as she journeyed into motherhood. She met her husband in 1979, in Wasaga Beach while on holidays. They would later move back to where it started and find their forever home.
She worked for many years as a seamstress at South paw Promotions. She always loved sewing, crocheting and making gifts for people. She loved her field of water, as she called it; and found the sound of waves by their home relaxing. She loved her five grandchildren immensely. She would always have ice cream for them and spoil them with special gifts she knew they would love.
She is terribly missed by her family, especially her four children: Crystal (James), Denise (Steve), Tom and Steven; her five grandchildren: Alyssa, Jenna, Ashlynn, Jaxon and Emily; and her beloved dog Saga. We know that we can’t have you here, but we are comforted that you are safe with the angels. Goodbye to a wonderful wife, mother, grandmother, sister, aunt, cousin and friend. A sincere thank you to Georgian Triangle Hospice and the RVH Cancer Centre for their care and kindness.
Friends are invited to join the family at the Carruthers & Davidson Funeral Home, 509 River Road West, Wasaga Beach on Friday, November 18, 2022 for visitation from 10 a.m. for the funeral service at 12 p.m. with Father Tom Kluger officiating, followed by a reception in the lower lounge. Interment St. Mary’s Catholic Cemetery, Collingwood. If desired, a donation to the Georgian Triangle Hospice Foundation for Campbell House would be appreciated by Darlene’s family.
