GROSE (nee EDIGHOFFER), LLOY
Lloy (Edighoffer) Grose peacefully died in her 84th year on Monday June 6, 2022, surrounded by immediate family, after a meaningful time together sharing stories, readings, and spiritual songs. She was the beloved daughter of Lloyd Edighoffer and his wife, Euloeen (Guenther) Edighoffer, and little sister to Maxine Hart, the late Hugh Edighoffer, and Mary Scott. Lloy was a devoted wife for 60 years to Allan Grose; a loving mother to and role model for Paul Grose (Lily), Philip Grosé (Desirée), Heather Lokko (Carl), and Carolyn Grose. She was a kind and cheerful grandmother to Joshua, Jason and Isaac Lokko of London; Elaine, Irene, and Peter Grose of Ottawa; Brenden and Evan Grosé of Georgetown; and Adam Harmon of Alymer. Lloy was like a second mother to Michael Butera (Giulia) and Huong Jill La Lem (Phil), and an inspiring aunt to many nieces and nephews. Born and raised in Mitchell, Ontario, Lloy was up for many adventures, and throughout her life lived in Newfoundland, Kenya, Fullarton, Hayesville, London, and near Stratford. She was a proud graduate of UWO in ‘59. In addition to raising four children and building a strong family with Allan, she positively impacted the lives of many young people through her role as a physical education teacher, her summer camp leadership, and her leadership of Canadian Girls in Training (CGIT) groups. She actively contributed to her faith community, and (with Allan) operated a spectacular bed and breakfast near Stratford for 14 years. Two of her favourite places to be were on the shores of Lake Huron, and twirling and gliding on the dance floor with Allan. Lloy’s twinkling eyes and bright smile, her positive outlook and influence on others, her enduring gratitude, her generosity and warm hospitality, her thoughtfulness and kindness to others, her love of skating and other athletic activities, and her beautiful singing and ability to engage others in song will be remembered by all those who had the honour of knowing her. A Celebration of Life will be held at 2:30pm on Saturday June 18th at Siloam United Church (1240 Fanshawe Park Rd E in London). All are welcome.
“If anybody asks you who I am, tell ‘em I’m a child of God.”
